The Meteorolo-gical department forecast mainly cold and dry weather with fog/mist likely to occur over plain areas of Punjab and Sindh today. In its daily weather forecast the Met Office said that shallow westerly trough is affecting western parts of the country and likely to move in northern parts of the country during next 24 hours.

Under this influence thunderstorm/light rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places of North Balochistan, upper KPK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir today.

It further stated that mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 48 hours; however, isolated rain (with snowfall over the hills) is likely in Malakand divisions and Kashmir/Gilgit-Balitistan.
